I was thrilled to learn more about the book (I recall her talking about the mistake she made with the VW breaking down and needing a new water pump) from the author's point of view and this has been one that stuck with me through the years.' She was the first author I ever met and she was the opposite of what I was expecting. Her obsession with the occult was a new and exciting concept to me and I wanted to find a mirrored triangle to put on my own forehead. I read it when I was about 10 or 11 and I was fascinated by Amanda. 'I absolutely LOVED this book as a child. Whether you believe in spirits or not, this Newbery Honor Book is sure to captivate your imagination. She thinks it, too, may have a resident ghost.
